Season II, week 1: duffeldoffel's Reds 29, igorz malfunxionistz 6 (Final)The defending Fever Bowl Champions returned to the venue of their great triumph and remained victorious in the opening game of the new season.
duffeldoffel's Reds gained early momentum scoring TDs with their first two possession as they went on to beat igorz malfunxionistz 29-6 at the breakdown dome.
The Reds' running backs who had surprised the football-fever world at Fever Bowl I switched back to normal with an average of only 3.2 yds per carry but their passing attack more than made up for that.
Their quarterback completed 22-of-25 for a QFL-record tying 312 yds and three TDs and registered a perfect rating. He threw TD passes for 28 and 5 yds in the first and for 5 yds in the fourth quarter.
Although the Malfs moved the ball well in the second and third quarter, they never really found their way back into the game after falling behind 14-0 in the first quarter. They reached the red zone three times but never found the end zone.
The Malfs' running backs ran for 165 yds and had an impressive average of 7.7 yds per carry but the quarterback threw for only 71 yds and had an interception at the Reds' 14 when the Malfs were in position to cut their deficit down to one score in the second quarter.
The Reds' defense was unspectacular but very effective allowing their opposition only 228 yds and 3-of-12 third downs converted. Their kicker converted two field-goal attempts from more than 50 yds out but also missed an extra point.
