Postseason game: dieselz go to the Fever Bowl! (22 February 2011)
Season I, Divisional Playoffs: zugschefz dieselz 30, Prussian Warriors 27 (Final)zugschefz dieselz are the first team in QFL history to book a spot in the Fever Bowl after beating #1 seed Prussian Warriors by a score of 30-27 in a hard-fought encounter at the Olympic Battlefield.
The dieselz recovered their own opening onside kick and then drove 55 yds for the opening score. Both teams scored TDs on their first two possessions. After the dieselz missed a late 46-yd FG attempt, both clubs went into the locker room with the game tied at 17 at halftime.
With the opening possession of the second half, the dieselz drove 81 yds to the 1-yd line where they had a first-and-goal. But after three negative plays and a 15-yd penalty, the dieselz found themselves back at the 31 from where a FG attempt was blocked.
In the fourth quarter, the dieselz scored two TDs with a Warriors' FG in between to take a 10-point lead with 3:48 left to play. With a minute left on the clock, the Warriors narrowed the gap down to three points and then recovered their own onside kick but the dieselz held on to their lead.
The Warriors had suffered their only regular-season defeat against the dieselz in their season opener. The dieselz who had lost three of their last four regular-season games looked a lot like the team that started the season 2-0 and are only one win away from becoming QFL World Champions.
