Recap
Reds win inaugural QFL Cupduffeldoffel's Reds claimed the first ever QFL Cup winning the Sudden-Death Cup final against igorz malfunxionistz on a 33-yd field goal.
It took the Reds more time to win the final than it had taken them to get there. They had won their quarterfinal and semifinal in 4:24 minutes combined. The Cup final was over right at the five-minute mark.
After winning the toss and starting from their own 20, the Reds opened their drive with a 20-yd completion but then almost got themselves into losing position. On a draw play, their RB lost the football but the Malfs were not able to recover the fumble.
Instead, the Reds marched on to a 9-play, 65-yd drive to clinch the title. Their QB completed 4-of-5 for 53 yds including a 13-yd completion to the Malfs' 15-yd line to set up the game-winning FG.
The Reds won the Sudden-Death Cup without any contribution of their highly praised defense whatsoever. In all three rounds, the Reds won the toss, elected to receive and then went on to score on the opening possession.
The Malfs' breakdown dome remains the Reds' favorite travel destination as they had also won the Fever Bowl at that very place as well as the opener of the current QFL season.
