QFL Two-Minute Cup is under way (14 January 2013)
The QFL has launched the Two-Minute Cup as the third competition of the QFL Cup Series.Basically, the team that gains more yards during a two-minute possession will win a game.
Nine teams including current QFL Cup holders Prussian Warriors will compete for the trophy. Among the contenders are two independent teams (Buvag's Lawyers and Niners Sparrows).
A draw was held to determine the pairings of the first two qualifying rounds of this double-elimination tournament.
The first game is already under way:
2MC I - QU-R1: Moderate Drinkers 0, Buvag's Lawyers 6 (Final/4:00)
This is the only game of the first qualifying round. The winner will qualify for the qualifying quarterfinals (winners' bracket) while the loser gets their chance in the elimination rounds (losers' bracket).
The other seven teams have qualified for the qualifying quarterfinals on a bye. These are the pairings:
Game 1: igorz malfunxionistz @ Prussian Warriors
Game 2: Dicey Beasts @ duffeldoffel's Reds
Game 3: silentsound's Silentknights @ frontmodes Kobras
Game 4: Moderate Drinkers or Buvag's Lawyers @ Niners Sparrows
The losers of games 1, 2 and 4 will play on in the third elimination round, while the loser of game 3 will face either the Drinkers or Lawyers in the second elimination round.
There will be no game held in the first elimination round as either the Drinkers or Lawyers will have a bye in this round.
