Season I, week 1: zugschefz dieselz 24, Prussian Warriors 16 (Final)Their place-kicker converted all of his five field-goal attempts and their RBs ran for 233 yds and their lone TD as zugschefz dieselz beat the Prussian Warriors 24-16 at the Olympic Battlefield.
For three quarters, the game was a low-scoring affair as the game was tied at three points a piece before the dieselz stormed ahead 19-9 on their third FG and a 49-yd TD run with 7:36 minutes left to play.
With a little less than three minutes to play, the Warriors came within a field goal on a 2-yd TD run but they failed to recover their own onside kick and with 1:12 left, the dieselz scored their fifth FG forcing the Warriors to score a late touchdown.
The Warriors late comeback bid lasted only one play. Start from their own 7-yd line because of a penalty during the kickoff return, their QB was sacked in the endzone for a safety. The game was over when the dieselz recovered the Warriors' onside safety kick.
The dieselz kicker scored FGs from 38, 44, 47, 32 and 29 yds out but the Warriors' kicker hit the longest field goal of the day converting his only attempt from 54 yds out.
