Eight teams to go into Season VI (21 May 2024)
For the first time since Season III, the number of teams playing for Fever Bowl glory will increase when the QFL start their sixth season this summer.Even though Fever Bowl V winner Jetto Basterds have withdrawn, the QFL will send eight franchises into the new campaign as the returns of the Dicey Beasts and owl49er's billygoats along with the introduction of the Deichclimbers have been announced.
The Beasts, who are two-time playoff participants, had chosen to sit out last season after two poor campaigns with a combined 3-9 record but are now expected to terrorize opponents again with their notorious no-huddle offense.
The billygoats only played in Season IV which they started with three straight losses before bouncing back to finish the season 2-4 and then help The Nordics win the Ice Bowl.
The Deichclimbers will be coached by returning three-time Fever Bowl coach duffeldoffel and represent the region of East Frisia to which he hopes to relocate in the not so distant future.
With eight teams hopeful to win the Bill Walsh Trophy in Fever Bowl VI, the QFL have halted a downward trend that put their existence in jeopardy.
After playing their first two seasons with 10 teams, the QFL expanded to 12 teams for Season III but then shrunk to nine and eventually six teams for their last two seasons.
Information on the structures of Season IV will be announced shortly.
