Regular-season game: Warriors in first place (31 May 2010)

Season I, week 4: Prussian Warriors 26, SimKonville Fraggles 17 (Final)

The Prussian Warriors (3-1) claimed their third win in a row and sole possession of first place in the Gothic Division beating SimKonville Fraggles (1-3) 26-17 in a hard-fought encounter at the Fraggle Rock.

The Warriors' RBs ran for 167 yds and three scores but it was their defense and punt-coverage units rather than the offense that sealed victory late in the game.

Their RB scored his third TD early in the fourth quarter and the Warriors were still leading 24-17 with a little more than four minutes to play when the Fraggles' QB was sacked near midfield to turn the ball over on downs. The Warriors' offense lost a fumble on the ensuing play but their defense again forced a turnover on downs near midfield.

The Fraggles then forced a three-and-out but with only 1:12 left on the clock their return men apparently felt he had to force things to get his team in good field position. He caught the ball at the 9-yd line and tried to elude and outrun the Warriors' special teamers through his own end zone but he was tackled for a safety.

The Warriors who scored 14-0 points off turnovers opened the score on a 40-yd FG with their first possession. Late in the first quarter, they added a 5-yd TD run capitalizing from an interception. Late in the second quarter, the Fraggles' QB threw a 47-yd pass to set up a short TD run and the Fraggles kicker tied the game at 10 on a 25-yd FG with the last play of the half.

Taking advantage from a fumble recovery, the Warriors reclaimed the lead on another 5-yd TD run late in the third quarter but the Fraggles replied with an 80-yd scoring drive capped by 7-yd TD run.

The Warriors' QB threw for only 73 yds on 11 completions. Their defense contributed a sack, an interception, two fumble recoveries and two turnovers on downs.

The Warriors need to win one of their final two games to clinch playoff spot.
