Auf der Lüneburger Heide: Eagle Eyes to challenge duffeldoffel's Reds (15 December 2017)
Yet again, an expansion franchise will be challenging the defending QFL world champions at the world's biggest stage of Football Fever™ as the Eagle Eyes take on duffeldoffel's Reds.The there he gore's dome, virtual home of the Flash 80s in the heart of the Lüneburger Heide, will be hosting the third edition of the all-famous QFL Fever Bowl.
The Eyes upset top-seed Leinfelden Lawyers 33-21 in the AFC championship game earning the right to challange the Reds who had beaten the Lübeck Bay Seagulls 41-9 in the NFC decider earlier.
The Reds will be going for a perfect 8-0 season and, as two-time defending champion, have a chance to an unprecedented three-peat. With both their offense and their defense finishing the season on top of the league, the Reds have dominated the league more than ever and must be considered favorites to win their third Bill Walsh Trophy.
The Eyes, however, promise to provide fierce competition as they impressively bounced back from an abysmal 0-3 start to go all the way to the show. Winning 4-of-5 including two playoff games, they have proved to be one hot team and sure would have climbed to #2 of the power rankings, had there been such.
For the second consecutive season, the Reds will have to defend their title against an expansion team as they had to fight off the challenge of the Moderate Drinkers in Fever Bowl II. Starting 0-2 before winning out, the Drinkers had taken quite a similar route to the QFL championship game as the Eyes this season.
Also for the second time, the Fever Bowl will be held at a domed virtual stadium. The inaugural Fever Bowl was played at the breakdown dome as the Reds beat zugschefz dieselz to start their dominance.
