Regular-season game: Beasts edge out Malfs (11 August 2010)
Season I, week 4: Dicey Beasts 14, igorz malfunxionistz 13 (Final)In a game with only five scores but three lead changes, the Dicey Beasts (2-2) pulled out a 14-13 road win over igorz malfunxionistz (1-3) giving the Malfs' playoff hopes a serious blow.
The Malfs' QB completed 27-of-35 for 204 yds but their RBs only ran for 32 yds on 26 carries. Their only TD came when their QB threw a 1-yd TD pass capitalizing from an interception late in the second quarter giving the Malfs a 10-7 halftime lead.
The Beasts QB threw for 198 yds and a TD but also had three interceptions including a pick on the first play of the second half. But the Malfs lost a fumble on the ensuing play failing to build on their lead.
Instead, the Beasts drove 91 yds for the go-ahead touchdown. Their QB completed 4-of-4 for 87 yds during this drive including a 25-yd TD pass.
Both teams had three turnovers and four of the five scores came off turnovers including the final score of the game, a 45-yd FG by the Malfs' kicker off an interception.
The game was over when the Malfs decided to go for it on 4th-and-27 from their own 21-yd line with 2:36 minutes left - and failed - instead of trusting their defense to get the ball back with all three timeouts and the two-minute warning to work with.
