Cup game: Kobras eliminate Drinkers on the final play (14 February 2013)
2MC I - EL-QF: Moderate Drinkers 0, frontmodes Kobras 1 (Final/3:36/AP)frontmode's Kobras who are winless in the QFL since October 2010 registered yet another win in a cup game beating the Moderate Drinkers on an awarded point in a thrilling elimination quarterfinal of the Two-Minute Cup.
The Drinkers' RB had five runs for 33 yds including a 19-yd run on 3rd-and-2. But after reaching the Kobras' 29-yd line aided by a 15-yd personal foul by the Kobras, he lost a fumble that was returned 7 yds back to the Kobras' 35 ending the Drinkers' possession 24 seconds early.
Needing 45 yds but moving backwards on their first two plays, the Kobras looked like likely losers but on 3rd-and-16, the Kobras' QB threw a 25-yd pass to keep the possession alive. Three plays later, the Kobras were still 9 yds shy of the line required to force extra possessions with only 12 seconds left on the clock. With a precise 10-yd completion on the final play of the game, the Kobras earned the awarded winning point by a single yard.
The Kobras' QB completed all of his four attempts for 36 yds. Their RB had a 16-yd run after losing 4 yds on his first two carries. During their possession, the Kobras survived two fumbles not recovered by the defense.
