'Knights reach Go-4-9 Cup semissilentsound's Silentknights reached their first QFL Cup semifinal when their kicker converted from 40 yds out to lift his team past independent Niners Sparrows after 20:48 minutes of play.
The FG capped an 8-play, 43-yd drive to beat the Sparrows 10-7 in sudden-death extension.
On their previous drive, the 'Knights forced the game to go into sudden-death extension when their QB capped a 10-play, 93-yd drive with a 2-yd TD pass to tie the game at 7-7 with only 1:48 left to play in the 15-minute regulation.
The 'Knights QB finished the game with 10-of-11 for 83 yds and a 128.4 passer rating.
The Sparrows drew first blood when they covered 80 yds with only four plays on the opening drive. Their RB capped the drive running home from 10 yds out.
Needing only one more score, the Sparrows looked like likely winners when they had a 1st-and-10 at their opponents' 44-yd line on their next possession.
The 'Knights defense then forced a punt but their offense found themselves in bad field position at their own 7.
But a 24-yd run on 3rd-and-7 from their own 10 followed by a 35-yd completion jump-started the 'Knights comeback to earn a meeting against either the Prussian Warriors or the Dicey Beasts with a Cup-final berth at stake.
