Recap

dieselz bounce back from Fever Bowl defeat

zugschefz dieselz seem to have recovered well from their Fever Bowl defeat having beaten the Dicey Beasts 31-21 in their season opener at The Station.

The dieselz quarterback threw for 194 yds and a TD and their running backs ran for 150 yds and two scores as the dieselz came from behind twice to take revenge for their loss in last season's regular-season finale.

After trailing by one point at halftime, the dieselz got in front on a 13-yd TD run early in the third quarter. Early in the fourth, the Beasts scored on a 10-yd run to take the minimum lead.

The Beasts defense registered five sacks in the game but could not hang on to the lead as the dieselz quickly responded with a 35-yd TD run to reclaim the lead for good.

The dieselz took the early lead on their first play from scrimmage when their quarterback found a receiver for a 44-yd TD. Only a minute later, the Beasts tied the game on an 84-yd TD run.

Late in the first quarter, the Beasts defense returned a fumble 20 yds to the opponents 44. Three plays later, a pass was picked off and returned for 23 yds setting up a dieselz field goal.

The Beasts offense never really found a rhythm and had no time-consuming scoring drive. Their quarterback threw for only 45 yds. Their running backs ran for 197 yds including an 84-yd TD leaving only 3.6 yds per carry for the remaining run plays.

In the second quarter, the dieselz reclaimed the lead on a field goal, but the Beasts immediately struck back on a 97-yd kickoff return. The dieselz cut their deficit down to the minimum on another field goal with the last play of the first half.
