Kobras miss the playoffsfrontmodes Kobras (3-3) failed to qualify for the playoffs as they were shut out 10-0 by silentsound's Silentknights (3-3) at Silent Field Stadium.
The game appeared to be overtime-bound before the 'Knights' kicker finally broke the tie connecting on a 31-yd FG attempt with 3:36 minutes left to play. After a four-and-out on the Kobras' ensuing possession, their QB sealed the win for the 'Knights with a 5-yd TD pass.
However, the season ended for the 'Knights as well because MoRe's Moles beat the SimKonville Fragges to overtake the 'Knights for second place in the Gothic Division.
Both defenses registered two sacks and forced two turnovers and the 'Knights held the Kobras to only 167 yds on total offense. But both teams did have their chances to score in the first 56:24 minutes of the game.
The Kobras might regret one decision they made in the first quarter. Instead of scoring three points on a field goal, they went for it on 4th-and-4 from the 10-yd line and came out empty when their RB was stopped for no gain. On the other hand, their kicker missed from 27 yds out early in the second quarter.
Early in the fourth quarter, the Kobras blocked a punt but the lose ball was recovered and spectacularly advanced 20 yds to the Kobras' 28-yd line for a first down. However, the possession ended with a FG miss from 35 yds out. The 'Knights' kicker had had another miss from 48 yds in the third quarter.
