Recap

Back-to-back: Reds repeat Fever Bowl win

QFL World Champions duffeldoffel's Reds successfully defended their title with a comprehensive 48-21 win over the expansion Moderate Drinkers at the Snakepit Arena.

The game was all but done when the Reds took a 28-0 early in the second quarter against overwhelmed Drinkers who entered the game riding a five-game win streak but still never really stood a chance of upsetting the defending champions. The Reds' QB had a stellar performance completing 21-of-23 for 324 yds, a QFL-postseason-record five TDs and a perfect 158.3 passer rating.

The defending champions opened the game with an 8-play, 75-yd scoring drive capped by a 37-yd TD pass by the Reds' QB who threw another pair of TDs for 4 yds and 60 yds, respectively, with a 60-yd punt-return TD in between to put the game out of reach with only a minute into the second quarter.

Still, the Drinkers showed a lot of fighting spirit and actually outscored the Reds by a point in the last 44 minutes of the game. They managed to score two touchdowns before halftime, however, the Reds scored another one in between and finished the half with a field goal to take a commanding 38-14 lead into the locker room.

Another field goal early in the third and TD pass number five closed the Reds' scoring account before the Drinkers got themselves a final consolation touchdown in the middle of the fourth. The Drinkers' running backs had a nice output of 210 yds and two TDs with 35 carries.

Made a strong bid to become MVD: The Reds' Option DieThe Reds' defenders contributed to the win with two interceptions, a fumble recovery and three sacks. Their special teams contributed with 2-for-3 field-goal attempts, a punt-return TD and a solid kick coverage.

The Reds' Option Die again became Fever Bowl Most Valuable Die yielding 244 all-purpose yards (10.2 yds per cast) and three touchdowns with 24 casts. It had no fumble.

duffeldoffel's Reds who had finished the regular season with two losses, before bouncing back in the first playoff round, became the first wild-card team to lift the Bill Walsh Trophy as QFL World Champions.
