- Reds reach yet another cup final
QFL cup holders duffeldoffel's Reds scored two late TDs against the Moderate Drinkers to reach their third QFL cup final in as many tournament participations.
The Reds opened their third possession of their Bill-Walsh-Memorial Cup semifinal with three deep passing attempts of which the latter two were completed for 22 and 40 yds setting up the Reds red-zone offense.
Two plays later, their RB ran home from 11 yds out to open the score with 1:36 of the 15-minute minimum remaining.
Prior to that drive, the Reds' QB had dropped back three times and been thrown twice and their only new first down had come when drawing the Drinkers offsides on 4th-and-1 during their second possession.
The Reds' defense allowed only one first down during the game and stood tall during the Drinkers' comeback attempt forcing a turnover on downs at the Drinkers' 14-yd line.
On the very next play, the QB found a receiver in the end zone to all but clinch victory with 24 seconds remaining on the game clock.
The Reds' QB finished the game with 3-of-5 for 76 yds. His Drinkers' counterpart completed 5-of-9 for only 9 yds.
The Reds will host silentsound's Silentknights in the first ever Bill-Walsh-Memorial Cup final.
