Reds' RB beats the 'Knights againduffeldoffel's Reds' RB took off for 20 yds on 4th-and-1 to run past the line required to beat silentsound's Silentknights in the third elimination round of the QFL Two-Minute Cup.
The 'Knights moved the ball on each of their six plays during their two-minute possession but none of their plays was longer than 7 yds. Their RB had five runs for 24 yds but was also lucky that a fumble was recovered by a teammate. With his last run, the 'Knights finished their possession at their own 45 giving their defense a nice shot to win the game.
The Reds turned exclusively to their RB during their possession. After gaining zero net yards on their first two downs, he found a hole to gain 9 yds and give his team some hope to pull out a win. With 48 seconds and both timeouts left, the Reds were still 16 yds away from the line required to force extra possessions but about everything went wrong for the 'Knights on that down.
After the Reds' RB had crossed the line required by 4 yds, the 'Knights failed to call a timeout to give their defense a shot to push the Reds back behind the line again. Instead, the Reds let the time run down to 12 seconds and finished the game with another solid run play.
The Reds have yet to throw a pass in a cup game against the 'Knights. In their only previous cup meeting, their RB had given the 'Knights the sudden death with an 82-yd TD run on the first play-from-scrimmage.
